Penn at Texas
AUSTIN, Texas (Interstat) — The undefeated and seventh-ranked Texas Longhorns put their perfect record on the line Sunday when they host the Penn Quakers in a nonconference women’s basketball matchup at the Frank Erwin Center.
Texas (7-0) is riding high after a marquee 66-64 road victory over then-South Carolina on Thursday. Jordan Lee led the way with 19 points, while Madison Booker added 16. Point guard Rori Harmon orchestrated the offense with nine assists in the win, which followed a 76-65 victory over UCLA.
The Longhorns’ high-powered offense has scored 95 or more points in three of their seven wins this season.
Penn (5-2) arrives in Austin after a dominant 78-44 win at St. Thomas on Friday. Katie Collins was a force in that contest, scoring 18 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Guard Mataya Gayle added 14 points and six assists.
The Quakers have shown resilience, bouncing back from a 74-53 loss to Saint Joseph’s with their convincing road win. However, they have yet to face a ranked opponent this season, making the trip to Texas their toughest test to date.
The game tips off at 2 p.m. CST on Sunday. Texas will look to maintain its momentum before a showdown with North Carolina next Thursday, while Penn continues a challenging road stretch.
