Prairie View at Texas State
SAN MARCOS, Texas (Interstat) — The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers and the Texas State Bobcats, both seeking to reverse early-season struggles, will face off in a non-conference women’s basketball game Sunday at Strahan Coliseum.
Prairie View (2-4) enters the contest coming off a 67-58 home victory over Huston-Tillotson on Tuesday. CJ Wilson led the Lady Panthers with 17 points, while Jacque Giron added 11 points and four assists and Crystal Schultz scored 13 points. The win snapped a two-game skid for Prairie View, which has struggled on the road this season with four losses by an average of 30 points.
Texas State (1-5) looks to rebound from a 56-45 home loss to Tarleton State on Tuesday. Saniya Burks scored a team-high 16 points in the defeat. The Bobcats’ lone win this season was a 53-43 victory at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Nov. 20. Like their opponents, the Bobcats have found scoring difficult, averaging just 49.3 points per game in their five losses.
Sunday’s matchup presents an opportunity for both teams to build momentum before continuing their challenging schedules. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
