Western Kentucky at Southern Illinois

CARBONDALE, Ill. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to halt early-season slides will meet Sunday when the Western Kentucky Lady Toppers visit the Southern Illinois Salukis in a nonconference women’s basketball game.

Western Kentucky (2-4) arrives at SIU Arena having lost three straight, including a 70-41 road loss to Illinois on Wednesday. Torri James scored 12 points in that defeat for the Lady Toppers, who have struggled offensively, failing to reach 50 points in three of their four losses.

Southern Illinois (1-4) is also looking to rebound from a Wednesday road loss, falling 73-63 at Arkansas. Salukis guard Alayna Kraus poured in a game-high 23 points and added four assists in the contest. Southern Illinois’ lone win came in its home opener, a 69-53 victory over Lewis on Nov. 4.

The matchup pits the Lady Toppers’ defense, which held its last two home opponents to 65 and 60 points, against a Salukis offense led by Kraus. Both teams will be desperate for a win to build momentum before entering their respective conference schedules next month.

Tipoff is set for Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025.
