Southern Indiana at Northern Kentucky

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (Interstat) — A surging Southern Indiana team will look to extend its winning streak when it visits a Northern Kentucky squad seeking consistency on Sunday.

The Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles (4-1) have won three straight, including a dominant 95-18 rout of Fisk on Tuesday. Sophia Loden led the way with 22 points in that victory, with Lily Graves adding 17. Their only loss this season was a narrow 79-77 defeat to Murray State.

The Northern Kentucky Norse (2-6) are coming off a 90-69 win over Drake on Wednesday, a bright spot in an otherwise challenging start. Karina Bystry scored 17 points in the victory. Prior to that, the Norse endured a five-game losing streak, with several losses coming on the road against power-conference opponents like Louisville and Butler.

The matchup at Regents Hall pits Southern Indiana’s high-powered offense against a Northern Kentucky team that has shown it can score in bursts but has struggled defensively. The Screaming Eagles have scored 85 or more points in three of their four wins.

This non-conference game will be the final tune-up for both teams before each embarks on a stretch of road games. Southern Indiana travels to East Tennessee State on Dec. 6, while Northern Kentucky hosts Green Bay on Dec. 4.
