North Florida at Georgia
ATHENS, Ga. (Interstat) — The undefeated Georgia women’s basketball team looks to continue its dominant start to the season when it hosts North Florida on Thursday at Stegeman Coliseum.
The Bulldogs (5-0) have won every game by at least 24 points, most recently a 76-51 victory over Jacksonville State on Sunday. Trinity Turner scored 16 points and Dani Carnegie added 13 points, six rebounds and four assists in that win. Georgia’s stifling defense has been a hallmark, holding opponents to an average of just 53.4 points per game.
They face a North Florida team seeking to regain its footing after a difficult start. The Ospreys (1-3) are coming off an 83-46 road loss to South Alabama last Friday. Dezuray McGill was a bright spot in the defeat, scoring 16 points. North Florida’s lone win this season was a 70-67 victory over Trinity Baptist.
The game is a final tune-up for Georgia before a high-profile in-state showdown with Georgia Tech on Sunday. North Florida returns home to face Bethune-Cookman on Nov. 28.
Tipoff is set for Thursday evening.
