BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Interstat) — Fairfield cruised to an 82-46 victory over Iona in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Saturday at Webster Bank Arena.

The Stags (20-4) seized control with a 23-point first quarter and never relented, leading by 36 points at its peak. Fairfield’s defense forced turnovers that led to 22 points, while its offense dominated inside with 44 points in the paint.

Kaety L’Amoreaux led Fairfield with 15 points and seven assists. Cyanne Coe added 16 points. Zoey Ward scored a game-high 19 points for the Gaels (14-10) in the loss before an announced crowd of 1,324.
