East Carolina at High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. (Interstat) — The undefeated High Point Panthers will put their perfect start on the line Sunday when they host the East Carolina Pirates in a nonconference women’s basketball matchup at Qubein Arena.

High Point (3-0) is coming off an 82-69 win over Merrimack on Wednesday, led by Aaliyah Collins’ 21 points and four blocks. Chana Paxixe added 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Panthers, who have also recorded wins over Wofford and Johnson C. Smith.

East Carolina (2-1) arrives after a dominant 91-62 victory over Charleston Southern on Tuesday. Taylor Barner exploded for 32 points in the win. The Pirates’ season, however, includes a 69-53 road loss to Liberty, highlighting potential challenges away from home.

The game pits High Point’s unblemished record against an East Carolina offense that found its rhythm in its last outing. Barner’s scoring prowess will be tested by a Panthers defense anchored by Collins.

Following this contest, High Point will host Vermont on Wednesday. East Carolina’s next game is at home against Old Dominion on Nov. 21.
