IU Indy at Wright State
FAIRBORN, Ohio (Interstat) — Two Horizon League women’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Wright State Raiders host the IU Indy Jaguars at the Ervin J. Nutter Center.
The matchup features teams with struggling overall records. The visiting Jaguars (9-13) enter with a slight edge in the conference standings and are looking to build on a 78-70 home victory over Cleveland State on Wednesday. The Raiders (7-17) snapped a five-game losing streak with a 70-67 win over Fort Wayne on Thursday.
IU Indy won the first meeting this season, 70-59, on Jan. 11 in Indianapolis. A key player in that victory, Jaguars guard Hailey Smith, remains a focal point. She is coming off a 14-point, six-assist performance against Cleveland State and has averaged 12.2 points over her last five games.
Wright State will counter with dynamic guard Breezie Williams, who is fresh from a career-high 28-point, five-assist effort in the win over Fort Wayne. Williams’ scoring surge provides a crucial offensive boost for a Raiders team that has often struggled to find consistent production.
Both teams have faced recent challenges in closing out tight games, with each suffering multiple single-digit losses in January. The rematch will test Wright State’s ability to defend its home floor and avenge the earlier loss, while IU Indy aims to prove its recent win was no fluke and string together consecutive victories for the first time since late December.
The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. EST tip-off on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.
