CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Interstat) — Alexsandra Alvarado scored 23 points to lead North Alabama to a 71-55 victory over Queens on Saturday in an ASUN Conference women’s basketball game at Levine Center.

The Lions built a 38-24 halftime lead and maintained a double-digit advantage throughout the second half. India Howard added 18 points for North Alabama, which improved to 12-10 overall. The Royals, led by Hannah Hicks’ nine points and nine rebounds, fell to 8-15.

North Alabama dominated inside with 36 points in the paint and capitalized on turnovers. Alvarado also contributed four rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes. Attendance was 228.
