TROY, Ala. (Interstat) — The Troy women’s basketball team delivered a dominant 84-49 victory over Texas State on Wednesday night at Trojan Arena. The Trojans improved to 12-3 overall behind a decisive 30-point third quarter that broke the game open. The Bobcats, who fell to 6-8, were held to single-digit scoring in the second quarter and could not recover from Troy’s offensive surge. A crowd of 1,250 watched the home team control the contest from the start, leading 21-17 after one quarter and extending the advantage to 38-25 by halftime. The teams will meet again in San Marcos on Jan. 17.
