MARTIN, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Tennessee-Martin women’s basketball team earned a 58-51 victory over Eastern Illinois in an Ohio Valley Conference game Saturday at Skyhawk Arena.

The Skyhawks improved to 6-6 overall behind 21 points from Kenley McCarn. Zakheria Thompson added 14 points, eight rebounds and four blocks for Tennessee-Martin, which used a 21-point second quarter to build a lead it never relinquished.

The Panthers (1-14) mounted a fourth-quarter comeback, outscoring the Skyhawks 21-18 in the period, but the early deficit proved too large. Ava Stoller led Eastern Illinois with 16 points. Meioshe Mason posted a strong all-around game with nine points and 13 rebounds.

Attendance was 1,014.
