NEW ORLEANS (Interstat) — Two teams seeking their first win over a Division I opponent will meet Saturday when the Jacksonville State Gamecocks face the New Orleans Privateers in a non-conference women’s basketball game.

The game is scheduled for Nov. 22, 2025, at the Kiefer Lakefront Arena.

Jacksonville State (1-3) enters with a three-game losing streak against D-I competition, most recently falling 76-51 at Georgia on Sunday. Maria Sanchez Ponce led the Gamecocks in that contest with 14 points and five rebounds, while Brooklyn McDaniel added 12 points.

New Orleans (0-4) is also looking to break into the win column after a 73-65 home loss to Loyola on Wednesday. Aaliyah Ellis scored 13 points and Lauren Banks added 14 points in the defeat. The Privateers’ early schedule has been challenging, including road losses to power-conference foes Oklahoma State and New Mexico.

Both teams will view this matchup as a critical opportunity to build momentum. Following this game, Jacksonville State travels to California for games against UC Davis and Pacific. New Orleans will host Houston Christian before a road game at South Florida.
