Oklahoma at Western Carolina
CULLOWHEE, N.C. (Interstat) — The Western Carolina Catamounts face their toughest test of the young season Sunday when they host the high-scoring Oklahoma Sooners in a non-conference women’s basketball game at the Ramsey Center.
Oklahoma (3-1) arrives with significant momentum following an 89-61 rout of North Alabama on Friday. The Sooners’ offense has been potent, averaging 80.3 points per game in their three victories. Their lone loss came on the road against then-UCLA, 73-59.
The Sooners are led by a formidable trio. In the win over North Alabama, Raegan Beers posted a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Sahara Williams added 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Highly-touted freshman Aaliyah Chavez contributed 17 points.
Western Carolina (2-1) looks to rebound from its first loss, a 66-54 defeat at Campbell on Wednesday. The Catamounts’ wins came decisively against lower-division opponents Tusculum and Virginia-Lynchburg. Ally Hollifield leads the team after scoring 17 points in the loss to Campbell.
The game pits Oklahoma’s powerful offense against a Western Carolina team seeking a statement win. The Sooners will look to control the paint and tempo, while the Catamounts aim to leverage their home court advantage and disrupt Oklahoma’s rhythm.
Tip-off is set for Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025.
