Patriots Upset Broncos in Defensive Playoff Slugfest

DENVER (Interstat) — The New England Patriots advanced in the NFL playoffs with a 10-7 victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

A crowd of 76,862 saw a defensive struggle far below the projected point total. Denver took an early lead on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Jarrett Stidham to Courtland Sutton. The Patriots responded with a 6-yard rushing touchdown by quarterback Drake Maye in the second quarter and a 23-yard field goal from Andy Borregales in the third.

New England’s defense, led by Christian Gonzalez’s interception and sack, stifled Denver thereafter. The Patriots improved to 17-3 overall, while the Broncos finished their season at 15-4.
