Denver at Washington
LANDOVER, Md. (Interstat) — A surging Denver Broncos team riding a five-game winning streak will face a struggling Washington Commanders squad coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss when the two meet Sunday at FedEx Field.
The Broncos (9-2) are in the thick of the AFC playoff race and are fresh off a statement 22-19 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 16. Quarterback Bo Nix was efficient in that win, throwing for 295 yards and three touchdowns, while the running back tandem of RJ Harvey and Jaleel McLaughlin provided balance.
In stark contrast, the Commanders (3-8) have lost four of their last five, including a 16-13 overtime defeat in Miami in their last outing. Quarterback Marcus Mariota led Washington in that game with 213 passing yards and 49 rushing yards, with running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. adding 79 yards on the ground.
Despite the disparity in records, the Commanders have been installed as 5.5-point favorites by oddsmakers. The over/under is set at 43.5 points. A projection from Interstat simulates a 28-23 victory for Washington.
The Broncos’ defense, which has held opponents to 19 points or fewer in four of their last five games, will look to contain a Washington offense that has shown flashes but struggled with consistency. Denver will continue its playoff push, while Washington will aim to play spoiler and build momentum for the future.
