Philadelphia at Dallas
ARLINGTON, Texas (Interstat) — Dak Prescott connected with George Pickens for a crucial 24-yard completion to set up a 42-yard field goal by Brandon Aubrey as time expired, lifting the Dallas Cowboys to a 24-21 comeback victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at AT&T Stadium.
The Cowboys, who trailed by three touchdowns in the first half, completed the largest comeback in the history of their storied rivalry with the Eagles, erasing a 21-point deficit.
Philadelphia dominated the early stages, scoring on its first three possessions. Jalen Hurts capped the opening drive with a 16-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Brown. After forcing a Dallas punt, the Eagles marched down the field again, with Hurts finishing the drive with a 1-yard quarterback sneak for a score.
The Eagles extended their lead to 21-0 early in the second quarter on another 1-yard sneak by Hurts, a play set up by a 41-yard completion from Hurts to DeVonta Smith.
Dallas finally found its footing late in the first half. Prescott engineered a 72-yard drive in the final two minutes, culminating in a 1-yard touchdown pass to Pickens with 21 seconds left, cutting the deficit to 21-7 at halftime.
The Cowboys continued their rally in the third quarter. Prescott found tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford on a 4-yard scoring pass to bring Dallas within a touchdown. The drive was kept alive by a key defensive pass interference penalty against Philadelphia in the end zone.
Dallas tied the game early in the fourth quarter when Prescott scrambled for an 8-yard touchdown, capping a drive that featured a 43-yard strike from Prescott to Pickens.
Philadelphia had a chance to reclaim the lead on its ensuing possession, but Jake Elliott’s 56-yard field goal attempt sailed wide right.
After both teams exchanged punts, the Eagles got the ball back with just over two minutes remaining but were forced to punt after a 13-yard sack of Hurts pushed them deep into their own territory.
Taking over at his own 32 with 1:35 left, Prescott went to work. He completed passes to Jake Ferguson and Pickens to move Dallas into field goal range. After a spike to stop the clock, Aubrey drilled the game-winning kick straight through the uprights.
Prescott finished the game completing 23 of 36 passes for 354 yards and two touchdowns. Pickens was his primary target, hauling in nine receptions for 146 yards and a score.
For the Eagles, Hurts was 27 of 39 for 289 yards and one touchdown through the air, adding 33 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Brown caught eight passes for 110 yards and a touchdown.
The loss drops Philadelphia to 8-3 on the season, while Dallas improves to 5-5-1. The two teams split their season series, with the Eagles having won the first meeting 24-20 in Philadelphia on September 4.
The Eagles will look to rebound on Friday, November 28, when they host the Chicago Bears. The Cowboys have a short week, hosting the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, November 27.
