Cowboys Edge Eagles on Last-Second Field Goal

ARLINGTON, Texas (Interstat) — In a stunning reversal of fortune, the Dallas Cowboys mounted a furious second-half comeback to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21 on a walk-off field goal Sunday at AT&T Stadium.

The game, a critical NFC East showdown played on November 23, 2025, saw the Eagles dominate early before the Cowboys’ defense stiffened and quarterback Dak Prescott engineered a game-winning drive in the final minutes.

Philadelphia’s offense operated with ruthless efficiency from the opening whistle. The Eagles took the opening possession and marched methodically down the field, culminating in a 16-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to A.J. Brown. After forcing a Dallas punt, the Eagles embarked on another long drive. A potential second touchdown pass from Hurts to Brown was overturned by replay, but Hurts punched it in himself on a 7-yard run to give Philadelphia a 14-0 lead before the first quarter had even concluded.

The Eagles’ onslaught continued into the second quarter. Hurts connected with DeVonta Smith on a 41-yard deep ball, setting up another 1-yard quarterback sneak for a touchdown by Hurts, extending the lead to 21-0.

Dallas, meanwhile, was plagued by mistakes. A promising drive deep into Philadelphia territory was snuffed out when Prescott’s pass intended for CeeDee Lamb was intercepted in the end zone by Eagles safety Reed Blankenship for a touchback. Another drive was derailed by a fumble from KaVontae Turpin.

The Cowboys finally found a spark just before halftime. Prescott led a 10-play, 65-yard drive, capping it with a 1-yard touchdown pass to George Pickens with 21 seconds left in the half, cutting the deficit to 21-7 and providing a crucial momentum shift.

The second half belonged entirely to Dallas. The Cowboys’ defense, which had been gashed in the early going, transformed into an impenetrable wall. They began generating consistent pressure on Hurts, forcing a series of punts and stifling the Philadelphia running game.

Prescott and the offense capitalized on the defensive stand. After a missed field goal by Brandon Aubrey, the Cowboys put together another sustained drive. Prescott found tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford for a 4-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter, pulling Dallas within a single score at 21-14.

The comeback was completed early in the fourth quarter. Prescott unleashed a 43-yard deep shot to Pickens, and two plays later, the quarterback scrambled for an 8-yard touchdown run, tying the game at 21-21 with 11:40 remaining.

Both defenses held firm for the next several possessions. Philadelphia had a chance to reclaim the lead, but a 56-yard field goal attempt by Jake Elliott sailed wide right. The Eagles’ final meaningful drive was extinguished when Hurts was sacked for a 13-yard loss, forcing a punt back to Dallas with 1:44 left on the clock.

Starting from his own 32-yard line, Prescott was surgical. He completed passes to Jake Ferguson and Pickens to quickly move the Cowboys into field goal range. After a spike to stop the clock, Aubrey redeemed his earlier miss by drilling a 42-yard field goal as time expired, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

The victory was a character win for the Cowboys, who improved their season record to 5-5-1. The loss dropped the Eagles to 8-3, tightening the race in the NFC East. The result was a stark contrast to the pregame projections, which heavily favored Philadelphia, and marked a significant rebound for Dallas after dropping the season opener to these same Eagles.

The Cowboys are scheduled to host the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, November 27. The Eagles will return home to face the Chicago Bears on Friday, November 28.
