ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (Interstat) — Josh Allen accounted for four touchdowns and the Buffalo Bills pulled away in the second half to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 44-32 on Sunday at a rain-soaked Highmark Stadium.

In a game defined by explosive plays and a relentless Buffalo pass rush, the Bills improved to 7-3 while the Buccaneers fell to 6-4.

Allen completed 19 of 30 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns, adding 40 yards and another score on the ground. His favorite target was Tyrell Shavers, who hauled in four receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown. James Cook III contributed a touchdown both rushing and receiving, finishing with 48 yards on the ground and 66 through the air.

Tampa Bay’s offense was led by a powerful rushing attack, spearheaded by Sean Tucker’s 106 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. Quarterback Baker Mayfield struggled against constant pressure, completing 16 of 28 passes for 173 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also ran for 39 yards and a score.

The game began as a defensive struggle. Tampa Bay opened the scoring with a 23-yard Chase McLaughlin field goal after SirVocea Dennis intercepted Allen on Buffalo’s opening drive. The Bills responded with a methodical 11-play, 64-yard drive capped by Allen’s 2-yard touchdown run to take a 7-3 lead.

The second quarter saw both offenses find their rhythm. Mayfield answered with a 4-yard touchdown scramble to put the Buccaneers back in front. Allen then connected with Shavers on a deep 43-yard strike to reclaim the lead for Buffalo. Tucker immediately responded with a 43-yard touchdown run on the ensuing drive, tying the game at 17.

After Dennis’ second interception of the half gave Tampa Bay a chance to extend its lead, the Bills’ defense held firm, forcing a punt. Allen then engineered a lightning-fast 72-yard drive in just 32 seconds, culminating in a 52-yard touchdown pass to Ty Johnson to send Buffalo into halftime with a 21-17 advantage. The Buccaneers managed a 24-yard McLaughlin field goal as time expired in the half to narrow the deficit to 21-20.

Buffalo seized control in the third quarter. A Matt Prater 39-yard field goal extended the lead. On Tampa Bay’s next possession, Mayfield’s pass was intercepted by Cole Bishop, setting up Allen’s 25-yard touchdown pass to Cook, giving the Bills a 31-20 lead.

Tampa Bay closed the gap early in the fourth quarter on a 28-yard touchdown pass from Mayfield to Tucker, but a failed two-point conversion kept the score at 31-26. Allen answered with a commanding 96-yard drive, finishing it himself with a 5-yard touchdown run to make it 37-26.

After forcing a Tampa Bay punt, the Bills put the game away with another sustained drive, capped by Allen’s second rushing touchdown, a 9-yard scamper with 2:35 remaining to make it 44-26. A late Tampa Bay touchdown provided the final margin.

The Buffalo defense was the story, sacking Mayfield multiple times and hurrying him throughout the contest. The unit was led by linebacker Terrel Bernard, who recorded a game-high 11 tackles, and safety Jordan Poyer, who had 15. DaQuan Jones registered a sack for the Bills.

The Buccaneers’ defense was led by Antoine Winfield Jr. and Zyon McCollum, who each had six tackles.

The total points scored, 76, significantly exceeded the pregame over/under line of 46.5. The result went against the pregame spread, which had installed Tampa Bay as a 6-point favorite. The attendance was 71,005.
