FUKUOKA, Japan (Interstat) — Yasunobu Okugawa pitched a complete-game shutout, scattering five hits and striking out nine, as the Tokyo Yakult Swallows blanked the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks 4-0 on Sunday evening at Fukuoka Yahuoku! Dome.

Yakult scored all its runs with two outs. Ayuto Matsushita singled with the bases loaded in the second inning, driving in two runs. Domingo Santana hit a solo home run in the fifth, and Matsushita added an RBI single in the sixth. Matsushita finished 2 for 4 with three RBIs.

Okugawa (3-5) allowed no walks and retired the final 10 batters. Alexander Armenta (0-2) took the loss, surrendering two runs on two hits over 2 1/3 innings. The attendance was 40,122, and the game lasted 2 hours, 21 minutes.

The win improved Yakult’s record to 34-29-1, while SoftBank fell to 37-27.
