Colorado Rockies at Miami Marlins

Rockies, Marlins Open 2026 Season in Miami

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (Interstat) — The Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlins will open their 2026 Major League Baseball seasons on Friday at loanDepot Park, each looking to build on shutout victories that closed their previous campaigns.

First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. EDT under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature of 81 degrees Fahrenheit.

Both clubs enter with 0-0 records. The Marlins concluded their 2025 season with a 4-0 home win over the New York Mets on Sept. 28. The Rockies, conversely, ended their year with a 4-0 road loss to the San Francisco Giants on the same date.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Miami holds a decisive projection, forecasting a 7-0 Marlins victory. Betting markets align with that outlook, installing Miami as a pregame favorite with a spread of -1.5 runs. The over/under for total runs scored is set at 7.

The game marks the start of a three-game series between the clubs. The Rockies will continue a season-opening road trip with three games in Toronto against the Blue Jays beginning Monday. Following this series, the Marlins will host the Chicago White Sox for three games before embarking on a road trip to face the New York Yankees.

Colorado’s first homestand begins April 3 against the Philadelphia Phillies. Miami returns home April 6 to host the Cincinnati Reds.

The matchup pits a Rockies team seeking improvement away from Coors Field against a Marlins squad beginning its schedule with 10 of its first 13 games at home.

Probable starting pitchers for Friday’s opener were not announced by club officials at the time of publication.
