TORONTO (Interstat) — Kevin Gausman dominated with 11 strikeouts over six one-hit innings, and Andrés Giménez drove in all three Toronto runs as the Blue Jays edged the Athletics 3-2 on Friday night at Rogers Centre. A crowd of 42,728 saw the Blue Jays win their season opener.

Gausman allowed one earned run. Oakland’s Shea Langeliers homered twice, accounting for both Athletics runs. The game was tied 2-2 in the ninth when Giménez delivered a walk-off single off reliever Jeff Hoffman, who earned the win. Justin Sterner took the loss for Oakland.
