Milwaukee 1, at L.A. Dodgers 3

Thursday, October 16, 2025 · Final · World Series Game 3 (LAD leads 3-0)

Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Dodgers

LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — In a taut pitchers’ duel defined by missed opportunities and a decisive sixth-inning rally, the Los Angeles Dodgers moved to the brink of the World Series, edging the Milwaukee Brewers 3-1 on Thursday night at Dodger Stadium to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the National League Championship Series.

A crowd of 51,251 watched as the Dodgers’ bullpen secured the final 10 outs without allowing a run, sealing the victory and pushing the Brewers to the precipice of elimination.

The game was a stark departure from pregame projections, which had forecast a high-scoring affair. Instead, it was a showcase of power pitching, with both starters delivering dominant performances. The Dodgers’ Tyler Glasnow set the tone, striking out eight over 5 2/3 innings while allowing just one run on three hits. His counterpart, Milwaukee’s Jacob Misiorowski, was equally brilliant, matching Glasnow with one run allowed on three hits while racking up nine strikeouts over five innings.

Los Angeles struck first in the opening frame. Shohei Ohtani led off with a line-drive triple to right field and scored moments later on a ringing double by Mookie Betts. Misiorowski, however, limited the damage, striking out Will Smith and Teoscar Hernández while navigating a walk to Freddie Freeman.

Milwaukee answered in the top of the second. Rookie Caleb Durbin, who had a standout performance with a triple and a double, laced a triple to left field. He then scored on a Jake Bauers single to center, tying the game. The Brewers threatened for more, but a fielder’s choice at the plate ended the inning.

The game then settled into a tense stalemate, with Glasnow and Misiorowski trading zeros and strikeouts. The deadlock was finally broken in the bottom of the sixth after Misiorowski had exited. With one out, Smith singled and Freeman walked against reliever Aaron Ashby. Tommy Edman then delivered the critical blow, lining a single to center field that scored Smith and moved Freeman to third. Freeman would later score on a groundout by Max Muncy, giving the Dodgers a two-run cushion.

From there, the Dodgers’ bullpen took over. Alex Vesia, who recorded the final two outs of the sixth inning, was credited with the win, improving his record to 6-2. Blake Treinen and Anthony Banda combined for a scoreless seventh and eighth, setting the stage for Roki Sasaki, who worked a perfect ninth inning for his third save of the season.

Misiorowski was saddled with the hard-luck loss, falling to 7-4.

The Brewers’ best chance to rally came in the seventh when Durbin led off with a double. But he was left stranded as Jake Bauers flew out sharply, pinch-hitter Isaac Collins popped out and Jackson Chourio struck out swinging.

With the victory, the Dodgers improved their overall season record to 101-70, while the Brewers fell to 100-70. Los Angeles can complete a series sweep and secure its spot in the World Series in Game 4 on Friday night at Dodger Stadium.
