Los Angeles Dodgers at Milwaukee Brewers
MILWAUKEE (Interstat) — The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to even their National League playoff series Tuesday when they face the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 2 at American Family Field.
The Brewers took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series after a pitchers’ duel resulted in a scoreless tie through nine innings Monday. The game was ongoing at the time of this preview.
Tuesday’s matchup features a compelling showdown on the mound. The Dodgers will start right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto (13-9), while the Brewers counter with their 18-game winner, right-hander Freddy Peralta (18-7).
The Brewers, who finished the regular season with a major league-best 100-67 record, have dominated the Dodgers in recent meetings. Milwaukee swept a three-game series at Dodger Stadium in July and won two of three in Milwaukee earlier that month, giving them a 6-1 advantage in the season series.
Los Angeles, the NL West champion at 98-70, advanced by defeating the Philadelphia Phillies in their previous series. The Dodgers’ pitching was stellar in their clinching 2-1 victory on Oct. 9, with Tyler Glasnow, Roki Sasaki and Alex Vesia combining for a two-hitter.
Milwaukee arrives having won three of its last four, including a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Saturday to win its division series.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Dodgers are projected to even the series with an 8-5 victory. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. CDT.
