Toronto Blue Jays at Seattle Mariners
SEATTLE (Interstat) — The American League Championship Series returns to T-Mobile Park on Friday night for a decisive Game 5, where the Seattle Mariners will host the Toronto Blue Jays with a trip to the World Series on the line.
The best-of-seven series is knotted at 2-2. After the Mariners seized control with two wins in Toronto, the Blue Jays responded with a dominant 13-4 victory in Game 4 on Wednesday to even the series. The teams split their 10 regular-season meetings.
Friday’s forecast calls for cloudy skies and a first-pitch temperature of 58 degrees.
Toronto, which finished the season 98-71, will look to carry over its offensive explosion from Game 4, where Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went a perfect 4 for 4 with a home run and Alejandro Kirk also homered, driving in three runs. Seattle, 95-75 in the regular season, saw Julio Rodríguez and Randy Arozarena homer in the losing effort.
The winner of Friday’s contest will take a 3-2 series lead back to Toronto for Game 6 on Sunday. According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Blue Jays are projected for an 8-5 victory in Game 5.
