Seattle 3, at Detroit 9

Wednesday, October 8, 2025 · Final · Championship Series Game 4 (Tied 2-2)

Seattle Mariners at Detroit Tigers

DETROIT (Interstat) — The Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers will meet in a pivotal Game 4 of their American League playoff series Wednesday afternoon at Comerica Park, with rain in the forecast and the Mariners holding a 2-1 series edge.

The Mariners will send right-hander Casey Mize (14-6) to the mound against his former team. Mize, who began his career with the Tigers, has been a key addition for a Seattle team that finished the regular season 91-73.

Detroit (90-77) will look to even the series at home after a 3-0 loss Tuesday. The Tigers’ offense has been held in check for much of the series, scoring a total of five runs over the first three games.

Seattle took the series lead behind a strong pitching performance and a powerful showing from second baseman Jorge Polanco, who hit two home runs in Sunday’s 3-2 victory. The Mariners have won two of the three games in this series by that same score.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest projects to be another high-scoring affair, with a predicted final of Mariners 6, Tigers 5.

First pitch is scheduled for 8:07 p.m. EDT under threatening skies, with a game-time temperature of 58 degrees and rain expected. A Seattle win would send the Mariners to the next round, while a Detroit victory would force a decisive Game 5 in Seattle on Friday.
