Rockies Rally Past Dodgers, 4‑3, on Errors in Eighth

LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — The Colorado Rockies scored three unearned runs in the eighth inning Tuesday night, capitalizing on two Los Angeles Dodgers errors for a 4-3 comeback win at Dodger Stadium.

Colorado (38-55) trailed 3-1 entering the eighth. With the bases loaded, Tyler Freeman grounded to shortstop Miguel Rojas, whose throwing error let a run score. Later, Jake McCarthy’s sacrifice bunt turned into another run when second baseman Alex Freeland’s throw sailed wide, allowing two more runners to cross.

The Dodgers (60-33) built their lead on an RBI single from Freeland in the fifth, a sacrifice fly and a fifth-inning run. Shohei Ohtani hit a solo homer in the first.

Juan Mejia (2-6) pitched two scoreless innings for the win. Jordan Romano worked a perfect ninth for his sixth save. Will Klein (3-3) took the loss after allowing the three unearned runs in one-third of an inning.

Justin Wrobleski struck out nine over seven innings for Los Angeles, allowing one earned run on six hits. Colorado starter Michael Lorenzen gave up two earned runs in six innings.
