MIAMI (Interstat) — Heriberto Hernández launched a tiebreaking two-run homer in a four-run fourth inning, and Max Meyer remained unbeaten as the Miami Marlins defeated the San Francisco Giants 6-3 on Saturday evening at loanDepot Park.

Hernández then crushed a 1-0 pitch to left field for his seventh home run of the season, scoring Lopez and pushing the advantage to 6-2.

Hernández finished 1-for-3 with the homer and two RBI. Marsee went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Caissie added a single and an RBI.

San Francisco managed to push across a run in the eighth. Lee doubled for the second time, moved to third on a popout and scored on a double by Casey Schmitt, his second hit of the night. Schmitt finished 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI. Gilbert also collected two hits, including a double and a single, and drove in a run. But the Giants could not get closer.

Miami’s bullpen held the lead after Meyer departed. Cade Gibson allowed one earned run on one hit in the seventh, striking out one. Fairbanks closed it out with a clean ninth, striking out two.
