Chicago White Sox at San Francisco Giants

Preview: White Sox at Giants

SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants conclude a three-game series Sunday evening at Oracle Park, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. under cloudy skies and temperatures near 65 degrees.

The White Sox (26-25) enter the contest having split the first two games of the set, rebounding from a 10-3 loss Saturday with a 9-4 victory Friday. Chicago holds a one-game lead over .500 and is coming off a 5-3 road trip through Seattle and San Francisco.

The Giants (21-31) have dropped eight of their last 10 games and sit in last place in the National League West.

Chicago is expected to start either left-hander Noah Schultz (2-3) or left-hander Robbie Ray (3-6). Schultz has been effective in limited duty, while Ray has struggled with consistency. The Giants have not yet announced their probable pitcher.

White Sox reliever Bryan Hudson has been a bright spot. Over his last six appearances, Hudson has allowed zero earned runs in 5 1/3 innings, striking out three. He did not allow a hit in 1 1/3 innings during Saturday’s loss.

Giants outfielder Harrison Bader has been productive against Chicago pitching. In Saturday’s win, Bader went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. Over his last four games, he has driven in five runs.

The betting line favors the White Sox by 1.5 runs, with an over/under of 8. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 7-3 Chicago victory.

Following Sunday’s game, the White Sox return home for a 10-game homestand against the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers. The Giants open a three-game series Monday at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
