San Diego Padres at Milwaukee Brewers

MILWAUKEE (Interstat) — The San Diego Padres visit the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night at American Family Field, with first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m. The weather forecast calls for 66 degrees and cloudy skies.

San Diego (24-16) enters the game after a 3-2, 10-inning victory Sunday over St. Louis. The Padres have won two of their last three and sit atop the National League West. Milwaukee (22-16) is coming off a 4-3 win Sunday over the New York Yankees, taking three of four in that series. The Brewers are second in the NL Central.

The Padres have listed either Michael King (3-2) or Jacob Misiorowski (3-2) as the probable starter. Both right-handers have identical records but different roles: King has been a rotation mainstay, while Misiorowski has worked in a swing role. Milwaukee will counter with right-hander Logan Henderson (3-2), who allowed two runs over five innings in a win over the Yankees on May 10.

A player to watch for San Diego is right-hander Walker Buehler, who has been used in a variety of roles. In his most recent outing, Buehler threw six innings of two-run ball in a win over St. Louis on May 10. He has a 3.48 ERA over his last three appearances and could be used in long relief or as an opener.

For Milwaukee, Henderson has been sharp in his last two outings, posting a 3.27 ERA over 11 innings, including that win over New York. He has struck out 13 batters in that span and will look to bounce back from a May 3 loss at Washington, where he allowed two runs over six innings in a 3-2 defeat.

The Brewers took the series opener Tuesday, 4-2, and have won seven of their last 10. The Padres have won six of their last 10.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-5 victory for Milwaukee.

After Wednesday, San Diego remains in Milwaukee for a Thursday afternoon series finale before traveling to Seattle for three games. Milwaukee hosts San Diego again Thursday, then travels to Minnesota for three games beginning Friday.

Both teams are expected to make roster moves before the game, with San Diego likely activating an extra arm from the taxi squad given the uncertainty around its starter.
