Los Angeles Angels at Cleveland Guardians

CLEVELAND (Interstat) — The Cleveland Guardians look to build on a lopsided victory when they host the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night at Progressive Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. under cloudy skies, with the temperature expected to be 55 degrees.

The Guardians (21-21) will send right-hander Slade Cecconi (2-4, 4.67 ERA) to the mound. Cecconi has struggled with consistency, but Cleveland’s offense provided support in a 7-1 win over the Angels on Monday.

The Angels (16-25) counter with righty Walbert Ureña (1-3, 5.40 ERA). Ureña has lost three of his past four decisions and will face a Cleveland lineup that roughed up Angels pitching for seven runs in Monday’s series opener.

Los Angeles outfielder Jo Adell is a player to watch. Adell went 3 for 4 with two home runs and two RBIs in Sunday’s 6-1 victory at Toronto, but he has been streaky. Over his past 10 games, Adell has three multi-hit performances and six games with no hits. He was 0 for 3 in Monday’s loss.

Cleveland reliever Franco Aleman has been effective in recent outings. He threw two scoreless innings with one strikeout in Sunday’s 5-4 loss to Minnesota, lowering his ERA to 2.70.

The Guardians took Monday’s meeting behind a balanced attack. The Angels, meanwhile, snapped a three-game skid Sunday behind José Soriano’s 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball and a three-hit game from Adell.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 4-3 Cleveland victory. The Guardians are listed as -1.5 favorites, with the over/under set at 8.5 runs.

After Tuesday, the teams finish the two-game set Wednesday afternoon. The Angels then return home for a six-game homestand against the Dodgers and Athletics, while the Guardians host the Reds for three games before a four-game road trip to Detroit.
