San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers
LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — The San Francisco Giants visit the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night at Dodger Stadium, opening a four-game series between NL West rivals.
Right-hander Trevor McDonald (1-0) is scheduled to start for San Francisco, which enters at 16-24. The Dodgers, 24-16 and installed as -1.5 favorites, had not announced a starting pitcher. The over/under is 9.5.
The teams last met April 21-23 in San Francisco, with the Giants winning two of three, including a 3-0 shutout in the finale. Los Angeles won the opener 3-0.
San Francisco comes off a 7-6, 12-inning victory Sunday over Pittsburgh. Outfielder Heliot Ramos went 2-for-6 with a home run and two RBIs. Over his last 10 games, Ramos is batting .300 (9-for-30) with two homers and four RBIs, including multi-hit efforts in three of his past four contests.
Los Angeles dropped a 7-2 decision Sunday to Atlanta. Third baseman Max Muncy homered and drove in two runs. Muncy has three RBIs in his last five games but is hitting .160 (4-for-25) over that span.
Monday’s game begins a stretch of 10 consecutive road games for San Francisco, all within the division: three more at Los Angeles, three at the Athletics and three at Arizona. The Dodgers follow this series with three games against the Angels, then three at San Diego and three at Milwaukee.
A simulation by Interstat projects a 4-2 Dodgers victory.
