Athletics at Baltimore Orioles

BALTIMORE (Interstat) — The Athletics vie for a three-game sweep Sunday afternoon against the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, where first pitch is set for 1:35 p.m. under cloudy skies and 68-degree temperatures.

Oakland (21-18) sends RHP Luis Severino (2-3) to the mound. The Athletics have taken the first two games of the series by scores of 6-2 and 4-3, extending their winning streak to three games after dropping three straight at Philadelphia earlier in the week.

Severino will look to build on a bounce-back outing after a rough April. The right-hander allowed two earned runs over six innings in a win against the Cleveland Guardians in his most recent start.

The Orioles (17-23) counter with RHP Chris Bassitt (2-2), who seeks to snap a four-game losing streak for Baltimore. The Orioles have dropped eight of their last 10 — including a 12-1 drubbing by the New York Yankees on Monday — and are coming off a 1-12 road trip.

Players to watch

For Oakland, RHP Aaron Civale has been dominant in his past two starts, throwing 11 innings without allowing an earned run while striking out nine. In a win against Baltimore on Saturday, Civale went five innings, scattering six hits with six strikeouts in a 6-2 victory.

For Baltimore, RHP Lou Trivino has been a rare bright spot from the bullpen. He pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in Saturday’s loss, allowing two hits and striking out three.

Betting line

Oakland is favored by 1.5 runs, according to BetMGM Sportsbook. The over/under is set at 9.5 runs.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-3 Athletics win. The ELO system gives Baltimore a 51.20% probability of victory.
