Arizona Diamondbacks at Milwaukee Brewers

MILWAUKEE (Interstat) – The Arizona Diamondbacks open a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night at American Family Field, with right-hander Chad Patrick facing Brewers lefty Kyle Harrison.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. CT under a forecast of rain and 59 degrees.

Arizona (15-12) enters on a high after a 12-7 victory over San Diego on Sunday. The Diamondbacks have won six of their last 10, powered by a resurgent offense that has scored at least five runs in six of those contests. Milwaukee (14-13) beat Pittsburgh 5-0 on Sunday, snapping a three-game losing streak.

Patrick (1-1) makes his sixth start of the season. He will look to build on a solid outing Wednesday in a no-decision at Baltimore, when he allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. The Brewers have not faced Patrick in his career.

Harrison (2-1) has been dominant in his past two outings, combining for 9 scoreless innings while striking out 15. He allowed one hit and struck out a season-high 12 over 6 innings in Sunday’s win over the Pirates. Harrison has a 1.80 ERA over his last three starts.

Arizona infielder Ildemaro Vargas has been the club’s hottest hitter, batting .405 with three home runs and 12 RBIs over his last 10 games. He went 3 for 5 with a homer and four RBIs on Sunday.

For Milwaukee, Harrison’s emergence has stabilized a rotation that has posted a 3.72 ERA over the last six games.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-4 Arizona victory.

The series continues Wednesday and Thursday before Arizona travels to Chicago and Milwaukee visits Washington.
