Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants

SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The Los Angeles Dodgers look to snap a rare skid and avoid a series sweep when they conclude a three-game set against the rival San Francisco Giants on Thursday afternoon at Oracle Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. PDT under rainy skies and a forecast near 62 degrees.

The Dodgers (16-7), who entered the series with the best record in the National League, have dropped the first two games, including a 3-1 loss on Tuesday. They were shut out 3-0 on Wednesday. San Francisco (10-13) has won three straight.

The pitching matchup features a contrast in early-season success. The Dodgers will send right-hander Tyler Glasnow (2-0) to the mound. The Giants counter with right-hander Logan Webb (2-2).

A player to watch for Los Angeles is right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who took the loss Tuesday despite a quality start, allowing three runs over seven innings. He has been a rotation stalwart, logging at least six innings in all five starts this season.

For the Giants, right-hander Landen Roupp is coming off a dominant performance against these same Dodgers on Tuesday, holding them to one hit and one run over five innings with seven strikeouts. In his last three outings, he has allowed just two earned runs over 17 innings.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Dodgers are projected to win 7-5. Los Angeles is a pregame favorite with a spread of -1.5, and the over/under is set at 7 runs.

After the game, the Dodgers return home to face the Chicago Cubs on Friday. The Giants will host the Miami Marlins to start a new series.
