Giants, Orioles Set for Interleague Opener in Baltimore

BALTIMORE (Interstat) — The San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles, teams looking to build early momentum, open a three-game interleague series Friday night at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. EDT under clear skies with a temperature around 54 degrees.

The Giants (5-8) arrive after shutting out the Philadelphia Phillies 5-0 on Wednesday. Right-hander Tyler Mahle was dominant in that victory, allowing three hits over 5 2/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts. He will be a key figure to watch out of the bullpen this series.

San Francisco will start right-hander Landen Roupp (1-1). He will be opposed by Orioles right-hander Shane Baz (0-0), who is making his first start of the season.

Baltimore (6-6) comes in having taken three straight from the Chicago White Sox, including a 5-3 win Wednesday. Outfielder Taylor Ward, a consistent offensive threat, went 4 for 5 with two RBIs in that contest. He is batting .429 (12 for 28) over his last seven games.

The Giants have dropped five of their last seven. The Orioles have won three straight following a four-game skid.

According to Interstat, the Orioles have a 50.6% probability to win, with a projected final score of 5-4. The over/under is set at 9 runs, with San Francisco installed as a -1.5 run favorite.

Following this series, the Giants continue a road trip in Cincinnati and Washington. The Orioles will host Arizona before embarking on a trip to Cleveland and Kansas City.
