Preview: Orioles at White Sox, April 8, 2026

CHICAGO (Interstat) — The Baltimore Orioles will look to complete a three-game road sweep of the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday in a matchup of American League teams seeking an early-season foothold.

First pitch is scheduled for the evening at Guaranteed Rate Field, with cloudy skies and a temperature near 37 degrees forecast.

The Orioles (5-6) have taken the first two games of the series by scores of 2-1 and 4-2. A player to watch for Baltimore is Trevor Rogers, who earned the win Tuesday with six strong innings, allowing two runs on six hits with six strikeouts. Over his last three starts, Rogers is 3-0 with a 2.00 ERA.

Baltimore is projected to start right-hander Kyle Bradish (0-2). The White Sox (4-7) are expected to counter with right-hander Sean Burke (0-1).

Chicago will hope for a better outcome after dropping two close games to open the series. A bright spot in Tuesday’s loss was reliever Shane Smith, who struck out eight over 3 2/3 scoreless innings. However, Smith’s two appearances prior were rough, yielding 10 earned runs over 4 2/3 innings.

Both teams have struggled for consistency. Before arriving in Chicago, Baltimore dropped three of four in Pittsburgh. The White Sox, prior to this series, were swept in a two-game set in Miami, allowing 19 runs.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Orioles are projected to win 4-3. Baltimore has been installed as a pregame favorite with a spread of -1.5. The over/under is 8.

Following Wednesday’s game, the Orioles return home to open a series against the San Francisco Giants on Friday. The White Sox begin a four-game series at the Kansas City Royals on Thursday.
