Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Angels
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Interstat) — The Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Angels will look to break a series deadlock when they meet in the rubber match of a three-game set Sunday evening at Angel Stadium.
The Mariners (4-4) evened the series with a 3-1, 10-inning victory on Friday afternoon, highlighted by a stellar start from right-hander Bryan Woo. The Angels (3-5) aim to secure their first series win of the young season after dropping two of three in Chicago earlier this week.
Seattle will send right-hander Luis Castillo to the mound. Castillo is making his second start of 2026, seeking his first decision after a no-decision in his season debut. He will be opposed by Angels left-hander Reid Detmers (0-1, 2.31 ERA), who was brilliant in a hard-luck loss Friday. Detmers tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits, but the Angels’ bullpen faltered late.
The matchup features two pitchers coming off strong outings. Castillo provides a veteran anchor for the Mariners’ rotation, while Detmers looks to continue his early-season form after striking out nine Astros on March 28 despite taking the loss.
A player to watch for Seattle is Woo, whose seven-inning, one-hit gem Friday showcased the depth of the Mariners’ pitching staff. The Angels will need more offensive production after managing just one run on five hits in the last 19 innings of this series.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Angels are projected to win 6-2. However, betting markets list the Mariners as a -1.5 run favorite. The over/under is set at 9.5 runs.
First pitch is scheduled for 5:07 p.m. PDT under partly cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near 86 degrees.
Following the game, the Mariners head to Texas for a three-game series with the Rangers starting Monday. The Angels will remain home to open a three-game interleague series against the Atlanta Braves.
