Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Angels
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Interstat) — The Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Angels, locked in an early-season tie at 3-4, will continue their series Saturday at Angel Stadium with both clubs looking to gain an edge in the AL West.
The Mariners will send right-hander Emerson Hancock (1-0) to the mound against Angels left-hander Jack Kochanowicz (0-0). Hancock seeks his second win, while Kochanowicz makes his first start of 2026.
A player to watch for Seattle is right-hander George Kirby, who took the loss Wednesday despite a quality start, allowing four earned runs over six innings against the New York Yankees. In his previous outing, he held Cleveland to one run over six frames in a win. For the Angels, reliever Brent Suter has been a bright spot, tossing four scoreless innings over his last two appearances, including four strikeouts in two innings against the Cubs on Wednesday.
The series opened with a pitchers’ duel Friday, a 0-0 tie that was suspended due to weather and will be completed at a later date.
Both teams are coming off series losses. The Mariners dropped two of three to the Yankees at home, while the Angels lost two of three in Chicago against the Cubs.
Projections for Saturday’s contest are split. Interstat’s game simulator predicts a 4-2 Angels victory. However, the same outlet’s ELO rating system gives Seattle a 63.6% probability to win. Betting markets list the Mariners as a -1.5 run favorite with an over/under of 9.5 runs.
Following Saturday’s game, the four-game set concludes Sunday before both teams embark on road trips. The Mariners head to Texas for three games starting Monday, while the Angels host Atlanta for a three-game series beginning the same day.
