Royals Edge Twins Behind Bubic’s Strong Start, Isbel’s Homer

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Interstat) — Kris Bubic delivered six strong innings and Kyle Isbel hit a two-run homer in the second inning to lift the Kansas City Royals to a 3-1 win over the Minnesota Twins on Monday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium.

Bubic earned the win, allowing one run on two hits while striking out four. His lone mistake was a solo home run to Matt Wallner in the second. Isbel’s blast off losing pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson in the bottom of the frame provided the decisive runs before a crowd of 39,320.
