Chicago White Sox at Milwaukee Brewers
Preview: White Sox, Brewers Set for Sunday Nightcap in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE (Interstat) — The Milwaukee Brewers will look to complete a season-opening sweep when they host the Chicago White Sox in the finale of a three-game series Sunday afternoon at American Family Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. EDT under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature of 44 degrees.
The Brewers (1-0) have dominated the early meetings, outscoring the White Sox (0-1) 20-3 over the first two contests. Milwaukee took Saturday’s game 6-1 after a 14-2 rout on Thursday.
A marquee pitching matchup is expected. The Brewers will send right-hander Jacob Misiorowski to the mound following a spectacular Opening Day outing. On Thursday, Misiorowski struck out 11 over five innings, allowing just two hits and one earned run.
The White Sox will counter with right-hander Brandon Sproat. Anthony Kay was initially listed as a probable pitcher.
Chicago’s primary offensive threat is Japanese slugger Munetaka Murakami. In Thursday’s loss, he accounted for half of his team’s runs with a solo home run, one of only two White Sox hits off Misiorowski.
For Milwaukee, Jake Bauers and Sal Frelick, who combined for five RBIs on Thursday, will look to continue providing support behind Misiorowski.
According to Interstat, the Brewers are heavy favorites with a 73.8% win probability. Their game simulator projects a 1-0 Milwaukee victory. The Brewers are installed as a -1.5 run favorite, with an over/under of 8 runs.
Following the series, the White Sox head to Miami for a three-game set starting Monday. The Brewers will remain at home to open a series against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday.
