Arizona Diamondbacks at Los Angeles Dodgers
LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — The Los Angeles Dodgers look to build on a season-opening victory when they host the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday at Dodger Stadium in the second game of a three-game series.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. PDT. The Dodgers (1-0) won Thursday’s opener 8-2 behind a strong start from Yoshinobu Yamamoto and a powerful offensive display. Friday’s scheduled game was postponed, setting the stage for Saturday’s matchup.
The Dodgers will send right-hander Tyler Glasnow to the mound. Glasnow earned the win on Opening Day, though his specific season record was not provided. He will be opposed by Arizona left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez.
The Diamondbacks (0-1) are seeking their first win after being held in check for much of Thursday’s contest. Shortstop Geraldo Perdomo provided all of Arizona’s offense in the loss, going 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. He will be a key figure as the Diamondbacks try to solve Dodgers pitching.
For Los Angeles, Yamamoto set a high standard in his first outing, allowing two runs on five hits over six innings while striking out six. The bullpen preserved the lead after his departure.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Dodgers are projected for a 2-1 victory. Bookmakers list Los Angeles as a 1.5-run favorite with an over/under of 8.5 runs.
Following this series, the Dodgers host the Cleveland Guardians for three games beginning Monday. The Diamondbacks return home to open a series against the Detroit Tigers on Monday.
