Arizona Diamondbacks at Los Angeles Dodgers
LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks will continue their opening series Friday at Dodger Stadium, with both clubs seeking their first win of the 2026 season.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. PDT. The National Weather Service forecasts clear skies and temperatures in the mid-60s at game time.
The Dodgers, installed as a -1.5 run favorite by sportsbooks, will send right-hander Emmet Sheehan to the mound. The over/under for total runs is set at 8.5.
Arizona will counter with right-hander Ryne Nelson. Both pitchers enter with 0-0 records, as the teams opened their seasons with a 0-0 result on Thursday. Official statistics for the 2026 campaign have yet to be compiled.
Friday’s contest marks the second of a four-game set between the National League West rivals. The series continues Saturday before the Diamondbacks return to Phoenix to host the Detroit Tigers for a three-game series starting Monday. Following Friday’s game, the Dodgers will host the Cleveland Guardians for three games beginning Monday before embarking on a six-game road trip to Washington and Toronto.
The clubs’ most recent meeting prior to this series was a scoreless affair. Arizona’s last result before opening day was a 12-4 loss at San Diego on Sept. 28, 2025. The Dodgers last played in a 5-4, 11-inning exhibition victory at Toronto on Nov. 1, 2025.
Despite the Dodgers being favored, Interstat’s game simulator projects a narrow 1-0 victory for the visiting Diamondbacks, suggesting a potential pitcher’s duel.
The game will be broadcast locally on SportsNet LA for Dodgers fans and Bally Sports Arizona for Diamondbacks fans.
