Houston Astros at Los Angeles Angels
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Interstat) — The Houston Astros will look to salvage the final game of their season-ending series against the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday afternoon at Angel Stadium.
The Astros (85-75) have dropped the first two games of the set, including a 4-3 loss on Friday afternoon. They will send left-hander Sam Aldegheri (0-1, 4.50 ERA) to the mound for his second career start. Aldegheri will be opposed by Angels right-hander Kyle Hendricks, who pitched five innings of two-run ball with eight strikeouts in Friday’s victory.
Houston’s offense will aim to rebound after being shut out 3-0 on Saturday. Christian Walker provided the bulk of the scoring in Friday’s contest with a solo home run.
The Angels (72-88), playing out the string, have won three of their last five. Mike Trout was the difference-maker on Friday, launching two home runs. Closer Kenley Jansen struck out the side in the ninth inning to secure the win.
This season series has been tightly contested, with the Astros holding a 7-6 edge heading into the finale. According to a Interstat game simulator projection, Houston is favored to win the finale by a score of 4-2.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:07 p.m. PDT under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near 75 degrees. The game concludes the 2025 regular season for both clubs.
