Pittsburgh Pirates at Atlanta Braves
ATLANTA (Interstat) — The Pittsburgh Pirates will look to continue their recent success against the Atlanta Braves when the teams meet Saturday at Truist Park, a game that could be impacted by rain.
The forecast calls for a temperature of 73 degrees and rain at first pitch.
The Pirates (69-90) evened the series with a 4-1 victory on Friday. They have won three of the four matchups against the Braves (75-84) this season.
Pittsburgh will send right-hander Bubba Chandler (3-1) to the mound. He will be opposed by Atlanta’s Spencer Strider (7-13).
The Pirates arrive after dropping a tight 2-1 contest to the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday, despite strong relief pitching from Carmen Mlodzinski and Kyle Nicolas. Pittsburgh had won two of three in that series.
The Braves are coming off a 4-3 loss to the Washington Nationals on Wednesday. In that game, Bryce Elder pitched seven innings and pinch-hitter Eli White homered in the loss. Prior to that, Atlanta had been playing well, winning six of its previous seven games.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Braves are projected to win 7-4. Betting markets favor Atlanta by 1.5 runs, with an over/under of 8.5 total runs.
The series concludes Sunday in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
