Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants
SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The San Francisco Giants will look to continue their dominance over the Colorado Rockies when the National League West rivals open a three-game series at Oracle Park on Friday night.
The Giants (78-81) have won eight of their last nine meetings with the Rockies (43-115), including a three-game sweep in Denver earlier this month where San Francisco outscored Colorado 25-14. The lone Rockies victory in that stretch was an 8-7 win on June 12.
San Francisco arrives home after splitting a two-game set with the St. Louis Cardinals, including a 4-3 victory on Wednesday. The bullpen was key in the win, with Carson Seymour, JT Brubaker and Tristan Beck combining for four scoreless innings of relief.
Colorado, long eliminated from postseason contention, is concluding a difficult season. The Rockies were swept in a two-game series in Seattle, losing 9-2 on Wednesday. Blaine Crim provided a bright spot with a home run in the loss.
Despite the lopsided season records and recent head-to-head results, Interstat’s game simulator projects a tight contest, forecasting a 3-2 Rockies victory.
The series is the final home stand of the season for the Giants, who will look to finish with a winning record. The Rockies will aim to play spoiler before heading into the offseason.
