Colorado Rockies at Seattle Mariners
SEATTLE (Interstat) — The Seattle Mariners, clinging to playoff hopes, will look to complete a series sweep of the woeful Colorado Rockies when the teams conclude their three-game set Thursday at T-Mobile Park.
The Mariners (88-69) have won six of their last eight games, including the first two games of this series. They edged the Rockies 4-3 on Tuesday behind Josh Naylor’s three RBIs and held on for a win Wednesday. Seattle remains in the hunt for an American League wild-card spot.
Conversely, the Rockies (43-114) are limping toward the finish line of a disastrous season. They have lost 11 of their last 14 games. Despite strong pitching in a 4-3 loss Tuesday — starter McCade Brown struck out 10 over five innings — Colorado’s offense has consistently struggled, having been shut out three times in its last 10 contests.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 7-3 victory for the Mariners.
Following the series finale, the Mariners will host the Los Angeles Dodgers for a critical three-game weekend series. The Rockies travel to San Francisco to face the Giants.
