Miami Marlins at Philadelphia Phillies

PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — The Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies will look to settle their series after a rain-interrupted tie when they conclude a two-game set Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park.

The game is forecast to be played in rainy conditions with a temperature of 78 degrees.

The Phillies (92-64), already playoff-bound, will send left-hander Jesús Luzardo (14-7) to the mound. Luzardo has been a workhorse for Philadelphia since his acquisition, anchoring the rotation.

He will be opposed by Miami lefty Ryan Weathers (2-1). The Marlins (76-80), playing for pride in the final week, have won four of their last five games, including a 4-2 victory over Texas on Sunday.

The season series has been tightly contested. The teams played to a 3-3 tie Tuesday night after the game was called due to rain. In their last 15 meetings, each team has seven wins, with the tie breaking the streak. Miami won the most recent completed game between the clubs, 5-4 on Sept. 7.

Despite Philadelphia’s superior record and home-field advantage, a projection from Interstat forecasts a high-scoring affair, predicting an 8-6 victory for the Marlins. The Phillies are pregame favorites with a spread of -1.5, and the over/under is set at 8.5 runs.

Following Wednesday’s contest, the Marlins return home to face the New York Mets, while the Phillies host the Minnesota Twins to conclude the regular season.
