Diamondbacks Rally in Ninth to Stun Dodgers

PHOENIX (Interstat) — Adrian Del Castillo’s pinch-hit, two-run homer in the seventh inning sparked a comeback, and Geraldo Perdomo’s walk-off single in the ninth lifted the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 5-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night at Chase Field.

The Dodgers built a 4-0 lead behind Shohei Ohtani, who struck out eight over six scoreless innings, and a two-run triple from Teoscar Hernández. But the bullpen faltered late. James McCann’s RBI double and Del Castillo’s homer off Alex Vesia made it 4-3. In the ninth, Tanner Scott loaded the bases before Jorge Barrosa tied it with a sacrifice fly. Perdomo then singled home Tim Tawa for the win before a crowd of 42,882. Ryan Thompson earned the win for Arizona, while Scott took the loss.
