Los Angeles Angels at Colorado Rockies
DENVER (Interstat) – Brenton Doyle had a tying two-run single and scored the go-ahead run on Ezequiel Tovar’s sacrifice fly in a four-run fifth inning as the Colorado Rockies beat the Los Angeles Angels 7-6 on Friday night at Coors Field.
The Angels built a 6-3 lead behind home runs from Christian Moore and Denzer Guzman in the second inning and a two-run double from Nolan Schanuel in the fifth. The Rockies answered immediately in the bottom of the fifth, with Doyle’s single off Mitch Farris (1-2) erasing the deficit before Tovar’s sac fly provided the decisive run. Bradley Blalock (2-5) earned the win and Victor Vodnik notched his ninth save. The loss was the Angels’ eighth straight.
