Bisons Rally in Fourth Inning to Top RailRiders in Doubleheader Opener
BUFFALO, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Buffalo Bisons scored six runs in the fourth inning to erase an early deficit and defeat the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 7-3 in the first game of a doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Sahlen Field.
The RailRiders built a 3-1 lead with solo home runs from Yanquiel Fernández and Spencer Jones, but the game turned in the fourth. Buffalo sent 10 batters to the plate, capitalizing on a key throwing error by Fernández that allowed two runs to score. Riley Tirotta’s two-run single gave the Bisons the lead for good.
Winning pitcher Devereaux Harrison earned the victory with three innings of relief for Buffalo. The game took 2 hours, 2 minutes before a crowd of 3,191. Both teams moved to 1-1 on the young season.
